Joshua Holt, of Arlington, Virginia, joined the Firm in December 2017. Mr. Holt handles a variety of employment and labor matters involving business tort and contract claims, as well as employment discrimination, retaliation, and trade secret claims.
Prior to joining Charlson Bredehoft Cohen & Brown, Mr. Holt worked for two prestigious law firms in the District of Columbia, where he represented a broad range of corporate clients in civil litigation, administrative actions, and government investigations. For his work with pro bono clients, Mr. Holt was awarded the Kaye Scholer Pro Bono Award in 2011, 2012, and 2014, and was named to the Capital Pro Bono High Honor Roll in 2014.
Mr. Holt graduated with honors from Amherst College in 2004 with a B.A. in Political Science and Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought. He earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2009 as an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar. While in law school, Mr. Holt served as a Note Editor for the Boston University International Law Journal and participated in the school’s Human Rights Clinic. During his third year, he successfully petitioned for asylum on behalf of a Cameroonian refugee who had been repeatedly arrested and tortured because of his political beliefs.
Mr. Holt is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
